I am currently using Azureus 2.5.0.0 and am a bit unhappy with the computer resources it uses. I have forwarded the ports so everything works fine with my firewall program and the router, and it took me a great deal of time to do this. I would like to know what clients others use and if they are happy with the way it works. I would like to change the client I use, but would like to make an informed decision when I do. Azureus is the only client I have ever used, and the only thing I dont like about it is the amount of resources it uses. Main features I would like to get with a new client would be ease of set-up, minimum of resources being used, and compatability with Windows enviroment. I run XP Media Center Service Pack 2, Pentium 4 - 3.0GHz, and 1.5 GB RAM. Thanks in advance for any input or advice you can give me. :D

I'm using µTorrent 1.6 and am highly pleased with. It's light on resources and IMHO easy to use. You can get it here (http://www.utorrent.com/).

I switched to utorrent about 6 months ago and have never looked back. Good features, small program, doesn't take up a lot of system resources and it doesn't interfere with any of my other software. Great little program!

I switched from Bittornado to uTorrent recently. It works great, provides an easy way to control several torrents and is very light on system resources. And it is possible to have uTorrent started when the computer is turned on, so that uploading starts as soon as the kids get out of school.

I have also unhappy with Azureus resource useage. Can you download only the files you choose with utorrent or just the entire torrent?

I used to use Azereus, and I switched to UTorrent. I like it much better. And you can download just certain files.

Try utorrent. You will like it. Resistance is futile.

O.K., 4 votes for µTorrent, Zero votes for anything else, looks like I will be trying µTorrent in the future. Thanks for all the input. :D

hahah, I run em both at once on a much older/slower machine, while running dc++, winmx, messengers, email, browser, ect

but the best trick for az has been to open task manager and set javaw.exe to lowest priority... but you have to do this as soon as ya open azureus and have to do it everytime :(
