It happend today. I recieved the call from Comcast letting me know that I had made their list for the top 1-10th of their users with a very high bandwidth usage for the month of Dec (641 Gig total up/down):). If I make the list again, they shut off interent service without warning for 1 year.

The funny thing is, my usage hasn't changed at all for the past 2 years...

So I would love some feedback from any US users as to a good ISP that is pretty cool about bandwidth usage, and that's not Comast. If anyone live in Illinois, that would be a plus. Cost is a factor, as my TV service is through Comcast, and unless someone offers a bundle pack price, I will still need to use comast for TV.....

Do you have Verizon in your area?

I know Verizon offers DSL only, you'll have to be persistent as they'll try to get you on a package deal.

But

They do offer it.

And

Make sure you speed isn't capped based on price. If you're within the first mile of the Central Office your speeds will crush a cable connection.

If you live in the SE IL region I would recommend Insight. I pay $130 or so a month for tv, phone and 10/1 internet. I've downloaded and uploaded quiet a bit in the past and I've never really received any warnings except a phone call or two to tone down my uploading (using too much bandwidth and affecting people on my node.)

Charter is another good company you should look into.

I will also mention that Comcast is buying out a big portion of Insight customers (a merging of some sorts) so if you've had bad experiences with Comcast already, try to go with Charter or cross your fingers and find a company offering FIOS in your area.

I'm so sorry to hear this bro. You know what I would recommend but you're already using it. Wow. Best of luck to you.

An interesting article (http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Dont-Get-Too-Excited-About-The-FCCs-Comcast-Investigation-90838) for Comcast users...

Perhaps something is going to be done about what they're doing? Who knows..

Nazi-Cast sucks. Absolutely terrible.

Anyways, I have Verizon FIOS fiberoptic 15mb/S CAble. I had them hook it up about a year and a half ago. A package with fiberoptic cable TV...Well they never charged me for the internet, and so I've been getting free internet for 18 months now.

I've never heard anyone say anything good about Nazicast. I wonder how they stay in business.
