This is really a sad day for us all here but more so for his family and loved ones. RIP Andy :(
It’s been hard to come to terms with the loss of Andrew Osborn whose name most of us only just learned. His presence as andy_672 was ubiquitous on Y, and it is obvious that he will be sincerely missed here. It’s an amazing tribute to him, that his passing has sparked an outpouring of fond remembrances from so many corners of the globe. Few people can boast of having touched so many others in their own town, let alone worldwide. I hope that Kay and the family find some measure of solace in the knowledge that Andy was so widely liked and respected. I echo the sentiments of the rest of the Y community in saying thanks for sharing with us Andy. We’ll miss you.

Shock and sadness at seeing that one of the most considerate and active members of Yeeshkul! has left us.
Only been around for a few months and posted a couple of torrents but andy_672 left a thank you or comment on all of them....
Condolences to his family and friends, hope the knowledge that he touched so many people here provides some small comfort during this difficult time of grief.

I have been away for a while and have had limited access to a computer, I am truly shocked and saddened at the news of Andy's passing. He was a pillar of the Y community and had time for everyone. His presence will be sorely missed. My sincere condolences to his Family and friends, he will be in my prayers.

Only just found this thread, although I had read that he had died.
What a shock I have to say. Really strange that he was active the day before. He will be missed for all the contrbutions he made to this community.

PS Andy did a lot of work on audio and video links/lists - whats happening with those? It'd be a shame for them to go out of date after all the effort Andy put into them.

All I can say at this point is that I hope TJ was right, and that Andy's family members have had the opportunity to read this thread.
I think they would be comforted to know so many people - most of whom never actually met him - think so highly of him.
He was a right good bloke.

Well said OP. I miss Andy and his contributions here as well. :tear: I think the best thing we as a community can do to honor his memory is to share, share, share and share some more. Y has been a little slow since his passing. Let's "kick it up a notch" around here. It sounds corny, but I think it's what Andy would want.

Just found out about this via this website, and I am truly shocked and upset. I had been meaning to send Andy a message asking for his master list of gigs. I spoke at length on the telephone to him about a year ago and he helped me upload a DG concert I had taped but been unable to share to the Floyd community. He talked me through the process and his patience was immeasurable and IT knowledge profund - not to mention his Floyd knowledge and devotion. RIP and shine on forever.Quote:
