Default London 2012 Rock DVD petition

    Hi,

Someone is considering to make a DVD (sourced from HD broadcast) of all the "rock parts" of London 2012???

I mean, McCartney, Artic Monkeys, and whatever artist appears today at the closing ceremony.

Bonus: Would be nice too all the "Pink Floyd parts" (Intro video, Eclipse, the girl that used SOYCD for gymnastic, etc)

Thanks if someone make something like that!!!

    A: I think it sounds like a healthy ( ) hobby.

The sound quality is usually dreadful ( ), but I've got one with hundreds of things on. Not quite sure where they've got it from. For people like us who've done a lot over the years it's not a major issue ( )

To be honest, Goa, I'm finding it very hard to watch first time. It's on now and it's for the most part pretty painful!

However, I don't have the technology to create a recording of the thing anyway, so am of no help.

I expect someone, somewhere will post a torrent.

I'm doing it. Just like a personal exercise and private project. I'm on the stage of making the menus and cover artwork.
But most probably it will not be released here. The Olympics organization gets everything down from Youtube, and I wouldn't be surprised that such material would also bring trouble to the forum if shared here.

Well, actually I only see one good point in making a DVD with the subject Goa requested: the possibility of having a quick and practical access to the Floyd-related parts of the Olympic Games in one single DVD.

    But consider the following:
the available sources for the video are usually HDTV captures of 852X480 (at worst) and 1920X1080 (at best). So re-scaling the video to 720X406 (keeping the original 16:9 aspect ratio) to make a standard DVD only reduces the video quality of the digital sources.

In any case the DVD I made looks wonderful in a 32" LCD TV. And it looks still good in even bigger TVs.

But the best option to keep the high quality of the HDTV sources is to edit the video and make a digital version keeping the original resolution, and play it from the hard drive or a USB memory. 1920 pixels wide is more than double the size of the image from a DVD, and it really shows on the screen.
Tell me what you hate, and I'll tell you what you do.

A 10 min DVD isn't really worth it for just PF related material. - Nick looked his usual bored bank manager self doing WYWH. Brian May's 'Brighton Rock' was my favourite of the all lot and even that was as cheesy as an over-ripe stinky feet Stilton.

Wish my bank manager had that sort of expression on his face when I go and see him...

...he seems to delight in getting slightly over-excited the moment I get in

    Hope he's on BUPA!!!
