I've just learned that Martin aka marbal passed away earlier this month. No other details were given, but if you have anything to add, feel free to post in the thread.
Shine on, brother.

Sad day, really sad. I'm not gonna say too much but Marbal was a really stand up and awesome guy. For those who got to correspond with him, probably already know this. This community owes him a lot, some of the best things we have come from him. I will miss him a lot.
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon brother![]()

Martin was a very kind man, generous, and one of the older tapers, I liked called him Master.
Very sad news, he'll miss here.

Wonderful, my friend!
Especially for me,because I'm slowly creeping back to normal life after a very serious surgery & 5 weeks in hospital.
Many thanx to everybody here at Y who let me relive all these nice shows which I missed. Now I will get 'em all.
But as I'm still alive I can now hear & see all of your nice results!
Thanx a million to everyone who posted!!!

My condolences.
I know I had the privilege of working on a couple of his recordings. Our collections and this preserved history wouldn't be the same without him.
The world keeps getting smaller...
I've never interacted with Martin but you have to know the name Marbal if you've spent any significant amount of time on this board...
It is because of him and people like him that I'm able to hear these recordings and I have nothing but the utmost respect for the ways that they've unknowingly brought light to my life.
His memory will bless mine for time to come. Rest in Peace, Marbal.
A very nice and extremely generous person, he will always be remembered that way. Rest in peace Martin.
R.I.P. Marbal!
What a sad day...
Very, very sad news. I never met Martin, but was always impressed by his generosity and warmth. R.I.P.
I have several of his works, but it's sad to lose someone so dedicated to helping other fans.
Gone but not forgotten.
