Bowie. Talking Heads. Queen, King Crimson, Who, Miles Davis, XTC.

Honorable mentions to the Gabriel Era Genesis, Gabriel himself, Yes up to and including Relayer. I have a lot of Jethro Tull and Gentle Giant.

Have to agree Therion is awesome, I'm not a fan of their death metal era but the symphonic stuff is great, I saw them live several times and they never disappoint. By the way, your country has some excellent bands — Arkona climbed very high in my ranks right after Moonsorrow entered and have stayed there since! These days I'm listening a lot to Butterfly Temple, an extremely underrated band (Колесо Чернобога and Земля are two masterpieces), and in a softer, folk-rock style, I love Omela and especially Kalevala. (If anyone's still reading, Russian folk rock is probably quite different from any Bob Dylans or Simons and Garfunkels you may have in mind!)
Yes, that's how it really is. Russian folk-rock is very peculiar in its own way. However, I don't like listening to him. Because its performers do not know the sense of proportion. As material for acquaintance, it will do. A true Russian song and melody deep in me since childhood. Unhurried and smooth harmonies (I couldn't get past Pink Floyd!), piercing taunts of balalaikas and much more. But I grew up listening to a different music - mostly it was the USSR stage, of course.
Of my domestic rock groups, I would single out "Облачный Край" (Cloudly region, Oblachnyi Krai)
