    That's awful, man. I'm in a unique position as one of the youngsters on this forum, probably even the youngest (at least among active posters). I may not have to worry about my health much, but stories like this serve as reminders to not take anything for granted. I hope you manage to pull through.

    Sorry to hear this!Any illness is a BASTARD! Stay Strong and Hopefully you have friends and loved ones around you,I've always held the belief that our time here on this little rock is a dry run for something better!Thinking of You and Yours!

    All my best wishes to you, Paul, for a speedy recovery. And yes, thank goodness for modern medicine -- I know a bunch of people who have survived cancers that wouldn't have been survivable 20 years ago. Doctors have so many more tools at their disposal.

    And Jim, my best to you as well. I was recently diagnosed with probable UC myself, though I seem to be more or less asymptomatic so far.

    Just seen this thread...all power to you dude, and everyone else that has health issues.
    I'm another one...I've nearly shuffled off this mortal coil a couple of times this past couple of years, and yes, thanks to the NHS, I'm still here.
