A Beginner's Guide to live Pink Floyd

I have created this thread as a guide to help new members who want to dive into this world of live recordings beyond the band's official live albums, and the great offerings available in the Immersion box sets and The Early Years and The Later Years box sets. What are the beginner's essentials? These dates could be debated until the fat old sun in the sky falls, but if you are coming here and thinking "Where do I start? There's thousands of shows here, and multiple versions of everything" these shows are sure to please you and get you started on a fun and exciting journey. The list was crafted bearing sound quality, performance, and unusual setlist in mind, and all eras are represented.

Nice list - I would argue this needs 1977-07-06, not just Jim's North American compilation!

I'm definitely down for adding another wall show for 1981 especially! Which version do you like for 6/17?

Also, everyone feel free to make further recommendations in the comments here. It can be helpful to have as a reference down the line. People can read through the comments and get everyone's take on their favorite shows, all in one place. I will likely not add much more to this list so as to keep it concise, but this thread (my post and the comments) can be a great place for people to get a pulse on what the goodies are.

@the mods - I don't want to be out of step, but I'd like to request that this thread gets a sticky so it's easy to find - IF you deem this to be potentially valuable to the community, etc.

I'll take you up on that! I have it added since the show as a whole illustrates the vibe of the thing by the end of the tour. The seeds of The Wall, etc.

Also, can anyone help me out with a definitive 1989 show? I used to always point to Venice, but that's officially released now on the Later Years Box.
