To me, the audience on 3/11/73 enhances the performance. When the guy yells at the climax of Eugene I can practically hear his brain melting. He was a changed man! As was I, listening in a mere 5 or 6 years later. And now, nearly 50 years later, and even knowing it is coming, I still get a thrill from it. And trust me, my first versions of these tapes were CRAP, but I could still listen through to the amazing music.

I would also comment that the March tour was a magical sweet spot, where the band was fully matured with their masterpiece recorded, but had yet to understand that they were soon to be megastars (as a band anyway). They really had not yet gotten just how well they had "made it." By May, their success was clear. To me, the performances have a different character. I feel that spring tour is critical. Wish we had tapes of every show. How that did not happen, I cannot understand.
You've sold me. I have it added!

The Pink Floyd Proper list is at 35 shows (37 with the additions below)... Definitely want to keep it under 40 so it's not terrifying to a newbie. Will let more people comment for a bit before adding a few more shows.

Also added a 1981 Wall show (Dortmund since the live album uses Earls Court shows. Thought of adding an La show as well since those are interesting, but I think the Earls Court shows Cigar mentioned suffice for further listening), and the Paris 2-25-1977 show as previously suggested by others here. That would leave openings for three others... More feedback is welcome!

    Hi Lennyif,

perhaps you may clarify on these two questions:

Is it the Buenos Aires or the Chile broadcast?

Does an official record (albeit out of print) qualify for this guide?

Good eye! Fixed the Waters link. Chile indeed! That got muddled up somewhere along the line.

As for the Syd, I opted to include it as I felt he should have some "live" stuff represented. Unfortunately, there is not much to choose from, so I went with that. Without the BBC sessions and the Last Minute Boogie Band, the only live Syd recording is the Olympia show, and I feel that that by itself is just not enough.

As of now, it's the *only* version of that date and is the only circulating recording that is truly from the first day. All of the other Hakone recordings that have done the rounds over the years are actually from the 2nd day.

That said, the recording could use some work. I'm sure someone will eventually pretty it up a bit. There's a lot of eq fluctuations and little flaws. Will probably be a big pain in the a**. Blessings to anyone who tries. Haha

    Much obliged!

For you or anyone else looking, just wanted to mention that I updated the links in the OP for Brescia 1971 and Los Angeles 1975 in light of recent upgrades to those dates.
