    Default Stereo audience recordings, 1967-1972

Has anyone kept a list of genuine stereo audience recordings through 1972 or so? Past that point it doesn't strike me as useful since a lot of recordings were stereo, but we could extend it through 1973 or even 1975 if need be.

I suspect I'm duplicating work already done by folks like Bert13, but here's a tentative list. An asterisk* = I'd appreciate confirmation. Additions and corrections welcome!

    1967:
    1967-09-10 Stockholm*

    1970:
1970-04-29 Fillmore West (last part of show only)
    1970-09-26 Electric Factory
    1970-10-16 Pepperland
    1970-11-14 Hamburg
    1970-11-21 Montreux
    1970-11-22 Montreux
    1970-11-27 Hannover (Rec. 2)
    1970-11-28 Saarbrücken (date not verified)

    1971:
    1971-02-24 Münster
1971-02-25 Hamburg (non-LP source only w/AHM and AHM reprise; LP is mono)
    1971-02-26 Offenbach (LP recorder only)
    1971-04-03 Rotterdam (LP recorder only)
    1971-06-19 Brescia (Rec. 5)
1971-06-26 Amsterdam (Rec. 1/LP recorder, Rec. 3 as well?)
    1971-08-06 Hakone
    1971-08-07 Hakone (Rec. 3)
    1971-08-09 Osaka (Rec. 1)
    1971-09-18 Montreux
    1971-10-17 San Diego
    1971-11-16 Washington

    1972:
    1972-02-20 Rainbow (LP recorder)
    1972-03-06 Tokyo
1972-03-08 Osaka (Rec. 1, maybe others)
1972-03-09 Osaka (Rec. 2, ASOS only)*
    1972-03-10 Kyoto
    1972-03-13 Sapporo (Rec. 1)
    1972-04-20 Pittsburgh
    1972-04-28 Chicago (Rec. 2)
    1972-05-02 Carnegie Hall
    1972-05-22 Amsterdam (Rec. 1)
    1972-06-28 Brighton
    1972-09-10 Dallas
    1972-09-22 Hollywood Bowl (Rec. 1, 2, 5; 3 as well?)
    1972-09-24 Winterland
    1972-11-10 Copenhagen (Rec. 2)*
    1972-11-12 Hamburg*
    1972-11-15 Böblingen (multiple recorders)
    1972-12-05 Brussels
    1972-12-09 Zürich

(Not listed: fan-made stereo matrixes of two mono recorders; these include 1969-04-14 RFH [second set + encore], 1969-08-08 Plumpton, 1971-08-07 Hakone R4 & R5, 1971-10-31 Toledo, 1971-11-12 Philadelphia [1.5 songs only], etc. Matrixes positioned in the front and back center channels also exist, e.g. 1971-10-16, 1972-01-20, as well as matrixes that combine a stereo recorder with other stereo and/or mono recorders, like 1971-04-03 Rotterdam and 1971-06-26 Amsterdam.)

I don't have a list of genuine stereo recordings but I did make a note of it with some of the recordings when I noticed they're in stereo. It's often hard to tell as with the ones with an asteriks on your list.

I've been listening to 1972-04-15 recorder 1 today which sounds to me as a phase shifted mono recording which needs to be revised, I'll have a closer look at it at some point and will put it on my to do list. As for Germersheim 1972, I believe all three recorders are mono as well. Regarding the date of this show, recently a friend and I established that the show was scheduled for the Festival day on the 20th which was a Saturday and that they played past midnight, so technically on the Sunday.

    http://www.rarepinkfloyd.fr/dbd1972.html

The review on this great site mentions they played " samedi soir sous une pluie fine", i.e. Saturday night with some light rain falling down.

I agree with you. Is the best circulating version 44.1 or 48kHz please?

44.1kHz. The only available transfer was ripped from CDRs.

Thanks, friends. I've removed the two entries noted by Bert.

I've suddenly remembered that 1969-04-14 R2 is labeled as stereo. I'm not able to check right at the moment, but is that confirmed/correct? It sounds implausible at first impression, but it allegedly was a band-sanctioned recording.

EDIT: Discussion in various threads seems to confirm it, so I'll go ahead and add it. EDIT: Un-added!

Going off on Jon R's 2nd gen on the tracker this is another mono recording with an azimuth problem. Most music comes from the right channel with no discernible stereo panning.

I was about to post the same. I'm glad that I only stated in the thread that it was stereo and not in the accompanying text file

Oh, good. I thought I remembered detecting no stereo information in 1969-04-14 R2 but I didn't want to assume. Hey, maybe it's time for an R1+R2 matrix of the second half of the show?

How could I miss it? Could've sworn I had it!
