His contribution to the record we have of the early Floyd is immeasurable. Without Anthony, we would not have heard the early and wonderful protoype Interstellar that was gifted to him and inspired his film 'San Francisco'. And we would not have the glimpse into Floyd's backstage method, in the Festival Hall '69 rehearsal footage; his tenacity and willingness to take risks in the name of his art evidenced by him getting booted from the venue when he tried to film the main event!
I met Anthony briefly at the Syd Barrett Tribute at the Barbican in 2007. A friend of a friend; he wanted to share some prints of shots he'd taken at the UFO in '66. He was a kind and friendly gentleman who was always enthusiastic about his experiences in the sixties. Perhaps his full contribution to British cultural life will be recognised further in light of his passing. 'Serendipity' is just as brilliant as San Francisco and his glassware and other projects showed the wide range of his talents. His interest in the Floyd continued throughout his life and he was always keen to assist other fellow obsessives. He will be missed.
