I skipped Roger's last tour but I bought tix to this one because I was curious about some of the new arrangements being teased. It's not that I mind the lip-synching in principle, very much agree with the posts above that a Roger show is about the theatrical experience. But I don't need to hear the same songs the same way so if he had changed up the arrangements to work within his current vocal range, that's exciting to me. I wish I could remember the passage of Dylan's autobiography where he had a story to the effect of running into an old haggard blues singer and coming to the realization that making the old haggard voice work for him rather than fighting against it would make his songs come alive again. There is so much emotion and pain in Waters' voice and I wish he'd come to that same realization.

I have to say, I love Have a Cigar in the key of C and the band absolutely kills the outro. This might be my new favourite version.

I like the new Comfortably Numb as well. Glad he took a chance on throwing the rule book out on that one all together.

Yes but to be fair, that part of the concert was specifically about Syd.

to be even more fair, david knew and cared about syd, too, and even co-wrote the music for that song (with roger and rick). it sucks that we're all more "fair" than roger...

but on a lighter note, jon carin isn't featured in that video, either, and he probably came up with some of the chords, or programmed the sounds that rick was playing!!

In my opinion it wouldn’t make any sense to show pictures of PF with Gilmour during a song specifically about Syd.
Ofcourse he is showing pictures of the Floyd with Syd.
I don’t see that as ‘Stalinesque’ censorship. On the contrary.

In fact, John plays 99% of the parts on the Wish You Were Here album, not that David would ever give him a public pat on the back for it. Very sad.

Not wanting to de-rail the topic too much but I can't understand the disproportionate slating of Jon Carin at every opportunity. It seems to me that all the credit he took in his FB posts line up pretty convincingly with the probability of how PF 1986-94 would have worked.
