I sent the taper a PM, hopefully he can clarify this different source transfer once and for all.

    EDIT: yes it was.

The master cassette is a Maxell UDC 120.
    Yes, that sounds exactly right!

Money is also poor quality on my Cariola source (Rec 1)
It is 100% date correct though and is not spliced from another show.
Maybe the taper done a cassette swap for the encore to a inferior or worn cassette.

Money on Sirene's source (Rec 2) is superior in quality and is note for note the same as Cariola's recording.

Yes, that's exactly what Bert13 meant, and most likely what happened

Nice catch on the R2 I am one of those who completely ignored the Sirene release as "most" of their release were inferior quality of sources we all already had, with some exceptions of course. Pretty sure that was my thought on this one.

Almost finished listening to this tape, it's quite enjoyable, much more so than recorder 1 even if it has a native harshness as well, just much less so.

After pulling the tapes, most of the show is on a Maxell UD C120. Money was placed on a blank Maxell XL II C90 that I brought to the show. I recorded over the remaining C90 with a show I received in trade from Gordon Stewart, a filler show Pink Floyd Wien 10-13-73 (Pt.2) with Pt. 1 on another XLII C90. I have a first generation copy of Anaheim May 6th that Gordon recorded. I believe California Stockyard was done by another taper. When I transfer the show in a few months, I'll see if there is any bleed through.

Since you're in contact with the Taper, can you ask him if he took pictures during the Show in Anaheim? I know he took pictures in San Diego 1972 and 75, parts of both Sets were printed in the Amazing Pudding fanzine

Also, I'd be very interested in proper scans of his 72 and 75 Pictures! A few from 75 are available, but not all.

I have his email address now and I will ask him at some point, don't want to bombard him with questions or requests at this stage.
