Happy birthday, Crackers!

During my freshman year of college, I bought a Pink Floyd bootleg that was completely unlabeled. Matching the 3 album set to details in Pink Floyd Discography by Miles, I determine that it was a version of Crackers (or a knockoff). Today is the 50th anniversary of that concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It's my favorite Pink Floyd show, and that boot was what launched me into collecting. So to all of you who have helped me through the magic of tape trading and BitTorrent, I say thank you and happy anniversary!

I have this as the Great Dane release Staying Home To Watch The Rain which I obtained at Mike's Music in Sanford, ME sometime in the 90s and I treasure it. I later obtained a copy of the original vinyl Crackers boot which I later sold when times got tight. Happy Birthday Crackers! One of my top ten shows for sure.

Amazes me to think that after 50 years a new, previously uncirculated recording of this performance is likely due to surface sometime soon - Jon Wizardo's backup mono recording which rejected for the Crackers boot in favor of a stereo tape.

Damn Braces: Bless Relaxes. My favorite Floyd show turns 50 today! I'm excited to spin my copy tonight. Recently I did a scan of my insert (for my own digital archive), but I'll send it here in honor of this special occasion. I can send the uncompressed one (50MB!) privately for those interested.

Ahh Crackers, had it not been that simplistic yet surreal cover art (what UnwoundBob scanned) that caught my eye & imagination, I wouldn't be here and would've never known how amazing their live catalog is. It's up there in perfect starter boots. Can't wait to hear the Wizardo mono master when it drops!
