This exercise is simple and hopefully illuminating... simply place each of the following tours in order according to which you find yourself listening to the most, 2nd most, etc.

1965-1967 Syd years
1968-1969 transition years
1970 AHM
1971 Meddle
1972-1973 Eclipse/OBC
1974-1975 DSOTM/pre-Wish
1977 WYWH/Animals
1980-1981 Wall
1987+ DG years

I'm really curious to see how Y! feels about this, considering the die hard nature of this crowd.

In my opinion, the 1975 tour is probably the worst tour the band ever did. It's obvious tour exhaustion was starting to affect them pretty badly (they had been non-stop touring since Syd left, only taking small breaks for new albums), and by Knebworth it all fell apart.

Big agree on that. It still has it's moments for me, but you can clearly hear that fatigue and lack of inspiration in most of the performances. I find it a chore to listen to most of those dates. Rick's voice was also in tatters by that point, so that doesn't help.

This sounds tantalising and rather exciting; 1970 is right up there for me.

Big agree on that. It still has it's moments for me, but you can clearly hear that fatigue and lack of inspiration in most of the performances. I find it a chore to listen to most of those dates. Rick's voice was also in tatters by that point, so that doesn't help.

It's a shame too because those "moments" like you said are incredible. I.E: Hamilton 75's On The Run, which is the best performance of the song.

Interesting. I feel they sound tired in 1974, but for some reason still like 1974 better (maybe because it's closer to 1970 and 1971 or because the three news songs are still in their earlier stages or because I like the YGBC of '74 lyrics better than the YGBC lyrics of '75). I feel they sound pretty vibrant and energetic on the 1975 tour. But we all have our different perspectives.
